Default XP Networked PC's cannot See new Vista Laptop

I am having a hard time getting my new Laptop with Vista to be seen by my currently connected Networked computers.
    I have one PC,
with XP Home Edition, running the lan.
It is connected via cable to the Linksys WRT54G router.
    Works fine!
    One Laptop, with
XP Home Edition, wirelessly connected to the lan, connects fine, and is able to print, share files and access the internet.
My new Acer Laptop (5520), running Windows Vista.
It can connect wirelessly and access the internet.
But the other computers do not recognize it on the lan, and it does not locate them either.
I have Zone Alarm free on all three computers, and have created a trusted zone for each IP address used in the lan (192.168.1.100 through 105)
I also have a trusted zone set up for the DMS of 24.25.5.149 through 150 (I read this was also needed).
I am still having no luck!
    HELP me please!

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.1 (Vista)
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

Is the Vista laptop set for Private or Public?

I have rectified the issue with Vista, and have my network up and running.
I am now having problems with my Acer laptop (Vista) dropping the connection to the internet and lan.
    Happens about every 15 minutes.

Really unfamiliar with Vista, so it is difficult for me to give advice for Vista.

Any power saving feature enabled on Vista for every fifteen minutes?

Is the network card allowed to be in use if on a battery (power saving) when network is idle (in the Advanced for the properties of the adapter if that is what they call it in Vista)?

Nothing is supposed to happen at the 15 minute mark in Vista.
The network card is allowed to be on.
