Default Configuring ZA to allow PC to share files wirelessly with notebook.

    Windows XP Home SP2.

I have set up a home network with the PC connected to the internet by ethernet and the notebook connected wirelessly through the same modem router. Zone Alarm has been successfully configured to allow internet access for both devices. The notebook can share files from the PC and use the remote printer by adding the IP address for the PC to ZAs Trusted Zone.

How can I configure ZA to allow the PC to share files from the notebook. (The notebook has the same IP address as the PC and when added to the Trusted Zone on ZA PC access is denied).

Advice will be most gratefully accepted.

    Thank you,

    John

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

I assume you have a router. The router should not give the same IP address to two computers. Ever.

Did you, by any chance, set up both computer static IPs to be the same? If you use static, make'm different, otherwise, just let the router do the job, and in the TCP/IP properties of both computers ask for automatic, or dynamic, obtaining of the IP address.
