Default Need to add two Earthlink DNS to dial-up TCP/IP Properties?

I have added my two Earthlink DNS addresses to the ZA Firewall Zones as "trusted" as instructed to do so here on this forum (which seems to get rid of the blocked entries in the firewall log for those addresses). But do I also need to add them to Network Connections > dial-up > Properties > TCP/IP Properties > Use the following DNS addresses...? Or can I just leave that set to automatic like it is?

What's the difference between having it either way?

    Thanks!

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:6.5
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

    Bloomcounty,
    Either way is ok.
Better protection if you also set it in the TCP/IP properties.
Then if ZA is not running for a while/any reason, Windows will use the DNS servers you specified and not invent others and won't let any malware you acquire (unlikely if you're careful) go wherever they please.
That's at least how I understand it.
Needless to say, if earthlink changes DNS addresses you'll need to edit two places.

Okey-doke. Thanks for the help! (Sorry for the late reply -- my "notify of replies" wasn't working for some reason...)
