    Default Steam

You people seem to have real problem answering this question. How do I make Steam work with ZA? Either I get an error in steam, or ZA crashes (and usually this triggers a system lockup). However, if I just disable ZA, everything works perfectly. I never get anything asking if I want to allow steam to access the internet, jet I have a log list a mile long of all the times it's been blocked. If I try to manually add steam.exe to my program list, nothing happens. It doesn't even show up on the list. **bleep**???

On an unrelated note, (perhaps) every single time my computer starts, I get questioned about allowing the same old networks into the trusted zone. Same thing with a program I recently installed - I'm asked to allow it to monitor user activities. Every time. What is up with your firewall????

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

    Hi!
this board is not monitored by ZA staff, we are all users here.
If you want to contact ZA you need to write to their support at: www.zonelabs.com/tsform

Anyway, from what you describe your ZA settings are corrupted.
Have you tried to reset them? This way:

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot

This works only with the latest version (7.0462.000).
If you don't have the latest version better you update to it (and choose clean install)

    Cheers,
    Fax

    Man i feel ur pain.
ZA and steam dont go well together. The "Game Mode" of ZA shud really be optimised for gaming in my opinion. Anyway i host a dedicated server (counter strike source - steam) and i need certain ports to be allowed access
    to my pc
so they can connect to my server, but ZA only has IP exceptions not Port -.- (using free version)
So i need to turn of ZA to run my server, which makes no point in me having ZA as i run my server 24/7.
    suggestions?

    Hi!
with ZAfree unfortunately you cannot open specific ports you need to move to ZAPRO...
Or find an alternative solution that would allow opening ports

    Sorry.
