    Dear philber:

The following is from Findley, a Frequent Contributor to this forum:

    Ways to block specific sites:

You can block sites through the Firewall tab for a single IP address, IP range of addresses or what may be easiest for you is the third option to block by host or site name.

1-To add a single IP address:

    Select Firewall|Zones.
Click Add, then select IP address from the shortcut menu.
The Add IP Address dialog appears.
Select Blocked from the Zone drop-down list.
Type the IP address and a description in the boxes provided, then click OK.
    Click apply

    2-To add an IP range:

    Select Firewall|Zones.
Click Add, then select IP address from the shortcut menu.
The Add IP Range dialog appears.
Select Blocked from the Zone drop-down list.
Type the beginning IP address in the first field, and the ending IP address in the second field.
Type a description in the field provided, then click OK.
    Click apply

3-To add to a Host or Site to the Blocked Zone:

    Select Firewall|Zones.
    Click Add, then select Host/Site.
    The Add Host/Site dialog appears.
Select Blocked from the Zones drop-down list.
Type the fully qualified host name in the Host name field.
Type a description of the host/site, then click OK.
    Click Apply

In addition, you can create an expert firewall rule from the Expert tab of the Firewall panel. The advantage of using an expert firewall rule is that expert firewall rules are enforced prior to Zone rules. However, they are not as easy to create as a Zone rule.

    Hope this helps.
