Default Nothing listed in the events log

I've just noticed that the events log has nothing listed. From previous experience this seems wrong! The event log is enabled, do I need to do something else to get the facility working?
    I'm using Zone Alarm Pro,thanks in anticipation,Bos.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0

Hi!did you updated recently? Are you connect via a Router? The router may alredy block all incoming connections, so it may be normal not to have any connection on the logs.If you feel its wrong than try reset your ZAPRO settings. This way:1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after rebootThe above only works with the latest version of ZA. If you do not have the latest version, please update (clean install option)Cheers,Fax

Hi Fax, thanks for the swift reply. I have carried out your instructions and will observe the event log to see if anything has changed. I do use an adsl router which may well have a built in fire wall so this could be responsible for the lack of events in the log?
I did have an update but I think it was several months ago.Bos.

Yes, indeed... all unsolicited incoming calls are filtered out by the router. So ZA will be silent (for the incoming).Cheers,Fax

Thanks again Fax, I guess I'll have to stop worrying about it and assume that between them ZAPro and the router are looking after me,Bos.

    Dear Bos:

You should still have Anti-spyware, OSFirewall, Program, and Spy Site Blocking events listed even if the Firewall log has none due to the router.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Watcher,

there are now entries in the OS firewall and Program sections so the events log seems to be working now. So far there are no entries in the Firewall and Anti Spywares sections but I will keep an eye on these, thanks for your reply,
    Bos.
