    Default PDF Files_Viewing

I have Adobe Reader 8.1.2 and the latest IE.
I cannot open pdf files while zone alarm is running. One of ZA's Gurus
has suggested the following (see below). However, I do not want to reset all of my many security settings. There should be a way to remedy this problem without resetting and then re-resetting all of my program privacy/permission settings.
    Can anyone advise?
    Thank you.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
    Found on ZA Forum:
To repair this problem, please follow the steps below. Please note that
this will remove your program permission settings (so you may want to make
note of them), but re-establishing them is a simple process.

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together (You need to Hold these two Key down while you Right Click the ZA Tray Icon..)
    Duh!
    2.)
Right click on the ZA icon near your clock

3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot

Please Post back and let us know how you did or if you need further help..

Hi!yes, resetting the ZA database is only the last resort if every else fails.1. Ensure all IE and Adobe elements have "SuperTrusted" permission (three green bars) under the ZA program control.2. Turn OFF Mobile control under the ZA privacy controlCheers,Fax

    KATHERINEG,
While Fax's suggestion will permit you to fix the badly designed, badly implemented, user-hostile Adobe, my suggestion is just ditch it. Get Foxit instead. Free, small and NONE of the problems people encounter here and elsewhere.
