Thread: Help, IP address?

    Default Help, IP address?

    just used ipconfig /all and noticed my IP address differs from what ZASS says it is on Firewall network
    192.168 etc

    mine is 10 zass says 0,

    I know its only one digit, but is this the reason i can't update anti-virus/spyware? and how do i rectify it. thanks:8}

    Hi!don't be afraid of posting complete addresses. That IP is internal and most of us have the same IP if using a router.So your IP could be 192.168.1.10 (as far as I can understand) and ZA should say IP Address/Site 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0Cheers,Fax

    sorry i'm new to all this my IP is192.168.150.10 ZASS says my network is 192.168.150.0thanks

    yep did that, changed it to trusted, still says 0 and not 10. thanks

    ok thanks for your help, also cannot update antivirus thought this may have been the cause

    Hi!
    were you ever able to update antivirus definitions since install?
    Which error does it give? Is it the antivirus part or the antispyware?
    Are you running any other security tool? windows defender, ad-aware, spybotS&D, Spyware doctor, Spysweeper?
    Are you running any invidia network management drivers?

    thanks for getting back to me1. never been able to update anti-virus or anti-spyware from day of installation2. error message - couldn't connect to server upd.zonelabs3. also running windows defender as of yesterday, spybot, AVG free only running these cos can't update zonealarm4. Have Nvidia graphics card, updated driver to 169.21 but had all sorts of trouble so rolled back to original driver. Not sure if have network management driver.ZASS 7.0.470.000
    registration still pending after 3 weeks, could this be a problem too?thank you

    Hi!
    this is the typical case where it is very difficult to troubleshoot the cause of the problem since it can be due to at least 10 different things. For sure ZA cannot connect out by any means. Both the AV and the ZA itself (checking for registration details).

    Before proceeding, what was your previous security tool?
    Norton? Mcafee? etc...
