Default current security settings put your computer at risk

I have just installed IE7. Zone Alarm is running, yet I keep getting a message saying "your current security settings put your computer at risk." If I click on the windows security alert icon, it shows Virus Protection Off and says Zone Alarm reports that it is turned off, yet when I go to zone alarm and check everything, all systems are active. Please advise.

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Antivirus

Turn off the security center in Windows. It misreports a lot of things.
