I know that Option 1 (remove KB951748) works with both of my PCs.
    I re-installed KB951748 and
tried Option 2 (Add DNS servers to the Trusted Zone)
    - and aside from the fact that
    my DNS Server address 194.168.4.100
was already there (seems to enable my PCs to talk to eachother and file share through a Linksys Router),
it didn't solve the Internet Access
    problem for me.
    So KBdoo-dah uninstalled again,
and now awaiting the MS Hotfix, er, fix... X-(
In the meantime, looks like I've got an annoying Gold Shield squatting
in my Taskbar for a while... :robottongue:

Either uninstall the MS updates KB951748 and KB951698 (in the Control Panel's Add and Remove Programs and check the "Show updates" box) or set the ZA's Internet Security slider to Medium<hr>
It is more secure to use the Internet Security slider at the High level not at the Medium level.
Or use the High and create specific rules will work as well with the latest MS updates.

If you wish to retain the MS updates and use the Internet Security slider at High (the default and correct setting), then do an uninstall of the ZA, after the required re-boot then manually remove the files found inside of these folders:
[*]WINDOWS\ Internet Logs folder[*]Program Files\Zone Labs folder[*]WINDOWS\system32\ Zonelabs folder[*] any files in the Windows\Temp folder[*] and any files found in the Temp folders found in the Document and Settings[*]empty the Recycle Bin

    Then re-install the ZA.

This method has been successful with the older ZA 5.5.094.000 and with the latest MS updated all installed, on a windows xp he sp3.

    From previous thread :
Tried the above method with v7.0.470.000 on an XP PRO SP3 system.
Removed all the files listed -in SAFE MODE ,ADMINISTRATOR MODE and USER MODE - just to be sure.
    Failed !

You only have to uninstall KB951748 to get back to the internet with ZoneAlarm Pro Security slider set to High.

First I tried resetting the database. Didn't work.

Then Uninstalled the 2 security updates......re-set ZoneAlarm Pro Security slider back to High, and all is well again!

Re-installed KB951978 (2nd available update) ....doesn't affect internet access with ZoneAlarm Security at High setting.

Will wait for the fix from MS or ZoneLabs!

For me, the ZASS release on 7-9 has fixed the problem without having to uninstall the MS update 951748
