    Default Making Updates Manual

    There is a problem with the updating of ZoneAlarm becuase it slows my machine almost to a halt during and it says it is updating. I have looked at all the options changing every downl;oad I could find to manual so I could control the updating times. It still updates automatically. How do I change this?

    to the Zone Alarm User Forum..VERY IMPORTANT: Please Report the details of your Problem Directly to ZA Tech Support for FREE at www.zonealarm.com/tsform (preferably withIE Browser)The more Users that Report this AV/AS Update or Slow Shut Down problem directly to Tech Support, with their Details and what they did to try and resolve the issue, the Sooner Tech support will find a FIX for the problem..Tech Support may ask for your ZA Log Files, and tell you how to do that..

    I was unable to reply to your message on installing ver7. I have done this and my printer works plus it seems to work better. Only time will tell. It takes take a while to load up initially though and hopefully this will settle down in time too. Questions:
    1. Why couldn't I reply to the original message to say thanks?
    2. Any idea when ver8 will actually work?

    Default Total resource domination by ZoneAlarm update process even when on Manual update

    Sir,

    I appreciated your advice to communicate with tech support regarding this issue back in July of 2008 to a user with the identical problem. I pray ZoneAlarm has a fix by now. I get so frustrated because I have no control of the update process even though it is set to manual and I am unable to control my machine and get my own work done while this process runs often for 15 minutes or more.

    It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country,
    without All the Details,without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..
    I don't kow what Version of ZA or Version of Windows your using..however, there is still a know Bug in ZASS 8.0.059.000 AV/AS that does an Hourly Update check.. My ZASS Vista 8.0.059.000 does AV/AS update checks hourly most of the time with occationally every two hours..Reportedly, the NEW ZAX BETA 8.0.259.000 has fixed this bug..
