Thread: ZA constantly updating upon startup, slow response to commands.

Default ZA constantly updating upon startup, slow response to commands.

I downloaded ZA 8.0.059.000 and have had nothing but problems with it since. I've since stopped using the firewall in lieu of Microsoft's. I am using the anti-virus and anti-spyware. Is it a bad idea to have SpywareGuard running at the same time?
When I start the computer it immediately goes into update mode, sometimes taking 15 minutes before it will allow any use of the computer. I've threatened it with a hammer but still it instigates me. When it finally relinquishes control it's only momentarily before it starts slowing everything down. Any ideas?
    Thank you

Thanks George. I read your post and then decided to not trust intuition and actually look up the OS. It's not 2000 PRO, it is an XP system. I'll have to look this afternoon and see if Micorsoft Service Pack 3 is in there. Pretty sure SP2 is.
Will update when I know more. Thanks again.

Also, I have done the whole uninstall deal, complete with Safe Mode operations and reinstall in ZA. As an aside last night I tried the CTRL +SHIFT right click on ZA to restore. That seems to have made a difference as now the computer is a little quicker but still slow with respect to before version 8.....

Thank you for your Feedback..If you have Updated to ZASS 8.0.059.000 on WinXP and still experience Slow Shutdown and Slow Startup..1.) many times part of the Registry gets Changed by other Programs like Comercial Registry Cleaners, or Registry Restore from a Registry Backup..2.) here is the Fix provided by Tech support..changed the following registry data:HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control (click on Control)In the right side of Control look for - WaitToKillServiceTimeoutIfValue data was set to 200. change it to 20000.After doing this, your shutdown should change backto normal.According to MS the default setting should have been 20000 (milliseconds) So we have no idea how these users got set to 200 or 2000-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
