Default Left 4 Dead Dedicated Server

Hi there,

I have a problem with when I set up my dedicated server and having Zone Alarm open. It seems nobody can connect to my server even tho I have set all the right ports on my router (once I shut down Zone Alarm then people can connect to my server).

I have allowed permission in ZA for both client and server (the 4 check marks) on the on the program that is the dedicated server. ZA didn't asked me for any other permissions when I set up the dedicated server.

So why when I keep ZA on nobody can make a connection to my server.

Operating System:Windows XP Pro
Software Version:7.0
Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

Hi!

as far as I know ZA products do not support server related machines.
ZA is strictly for home use.

May be you can contact ZA technical support at: www.zonealarm.com/tsform

Cheers,

Here is what I found out on Checkpoints ZA Support Web-Page..http://server.iad.liveperson.net/hc/...mp;action=view

Solution:

ZoneAlarm does not support ZoneAlarm installations on serversoperating systemsat this time.

ZoneAlarm was designed specifically for client applications on an endpoint machine.

I was under the impression that when you create a dedicated server, people are just connecting to your computer, same as if you would host a game like Il2 or Warcraft 3 (which I have no problem with).

As long as I give permission for this dedicated server program to accept connections for both "Access" and "Server" (Trusted and Internet) then I don't see why it wouldn't work.
One of the questions when you have a new program requesting internet access is asking you if you allow that program to act like a server.

Am I not correct?
