Default ossmtp.dll - false spyware ID by ZA Security Suite

    Hi, all,

As far as I can tell ossmtp.dll is a legitimate Windows file, and if you delete it, MsOffice will not run correctly.

Yet the ZASS Anti-Spyware program and the Smart Defense Advisor identify it as being part of the W32 worm, a major security threat.

    See OfficeToolsPro site:

"Office Tools Pro will detect the absence of this file, and respond with the error message, "There is a broken or missing reference." Office Tools Pro will then shut itself down. This file is a legitimate library. It is not a virus. Its purpose is to facilitate SMTP Email functionality in Office Tools Pro (and other legitimate software). However, this file has recently been associated with spammers and virus writers, because these people also use it to send illicit emails."

Other anti-virus programs have made the same mistake, but they corrected it in 2005.

Does Zone Alarm know about this problem? If not, why not? If they do, when are they planning to correct it?

Thanks for any help you can give!
