Default Remote catalogue is older than Local Catalogue??

Have just been using ZA Pro 7.408.000 with KAV 7 AV but the antispyware updates keep saying "Remote catalogue is older than Local Catalogue"?? Have deleted the catalogue in the updates folder & deleted the internet logs folder (in safe mode) & manually updated the antispyware which updates fine but then the hourly updates come up with the error in catalogue?
    Is this a
    case of a total reinstallation??

Could be. But try a database reset first before the ZA uninstall and re-install. It may fix the problem. Try this and see what happens:

Boot your computer into the Safe Mode

Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder

Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder

    Clean the Recycle Bin

    Reboot into the normal mode

ZA will be just like new with no previous settings or data

(How to get into the safe mode)

If the problem persists, then do a special " /clean" uninstall and a new re-install. Or like this:

Please make sure that you have the latest version downloaded. Now follow the steps below:

    - If you wish to keep your settings, create a Backup from the Overview in the
Preferences before starting, and then Restore afterwards.

    - Click on Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs
    - RIGHT-click on Uninstall ZoneAlarm, then select Properties
    - Under Target you will see the following line (the actual drive may
    be different on your system):

    "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe"

    Change it to:

    "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe" /clean

(add a space and then the /clean )

Open the Zone Alarm and disable the "Load Zone Alarm .. at startup" in the Preferences of the Overview. Then reboot. Now the Zone Alarm is completely off and it's driver have not been started.

-Return to the Uninstall ZoneAlarm in the Zone Labs of the All Programs
    - Click OK to run the uninstaller, and OK any security alerts that
    pop up.
    - say "Yes when being prompted for the removal of all files.
    - Reboot
    - maually remove these folders:

    WINDOWS\ Internet Logs

    Program Files\Zone Labs

    WINDOWS\system32\ Zonelabs

    - install the latest version

Oldsod: thanks for the reply! Have done your suggestions but to no avail so I guess its an uninstall & reinstall! Should I temporarily close/shutdown KAV AV 7 before reinstalling?

Probably would help. But the vsmon.exe and the zlclient.exe of the ZA should be entered in the Trusted Zone of the KAV - this should make things go better between the two of them.
If you wish, the ZA can be installed in the Safe Mode. The KAV is off by default in the safe boot and it should make the install a little smoother.
If the problem shows up again, it may be prudent to contact the ZA Technical Support, free by email. They may have a solution for this issue.

    Best regards.
