    Default Unable to update since 10/1

    I have also been unable to update my anti-virus and spyware since October 1. I am running ZA Internet Security Suite version 7.1.078.000 on Windows Vista.
    When I have the control center up, and the Anti-virus/spyware tabbed, it says action required and update anti-virus and spyware. I click on the update button, itthen says and update is in process, but it never appears to complete. Help!!!

    I have the same problem (same o/s and same ZA version). My last update was 9/18/2007. I've tried clearing my internet log, lowering my program control settings, adding avu.zonelabs.com to my trusted sites in the firewall, clearing out those 3 file extension types in safe mode - you name it, I've tried it with no luck.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    My ZA says - Update AntiVirus/Antispyware. When I click on it, it just says, Update in Progress-please wait. After about 10-15 seconds it goes back to Update AntiVirus/Antispyware. Nothing is in the Antivirus log.

    I have the same issue. I'm running ZA Sec Suite 7.1.078.000
    and
    Windows Vista
    (Same version # for
    Truvector Engine and driver. Also Antivirus engine ver 3, Anti-spyware engine 5.0.162.0, DAT file
    ver 01.200704.1445 & anit-spam ver 5.0.0.8843))
    The
    last time I was able to update my definitions was on 9/19. I uninstalled it and wiped out all traces of ZA & then reinstalled.... but it didin't work. I also cleared out the
    my internet log, tried updating with lower program control settings, and added zonelabs as a trusted site. When I click on the manual update, it looks like it is working but then it stops and continues to tell me my defs are outdated. There is no error message and I can't find a log that might be
    capturing an error.
    Does anyone have an idea of what is wrong?

    Also having a problem updating the anti-spyware!

    AntiSpam version 4.9.1.8211
    XP Pro all current patches.
    AntiVirus updates fine but for about the last 2 months now I get the error message Anti-spyware server busy, please try again later.Just ran the anti virus and it completes with a clean result and updates
    each time just fine.Only the anti-spyware part is disfunctional.Any help appreciated. Thanks.

    I'm running Vista Business myself. ZA is same as above and Also have the same problem with the anti-virus not updating...>_

    I finally fixed mine.
    Set Zone alarm to not start on logon
    Rebooted
    Ran the clean uninstall
    Rebooted into safe mode
    Deleted Program Files\Zone Labs folder
    Deleted everything in Windows\Internet logs
    Deleted Windows\System32\Zone Labs folder
    Emptied Recycle Bin.
    Rebooted and ran the install.
    This seemed to work this time. Do not try to restore settings as the other posts tell you. The first time I did and ended up with the same mess. The second time I did not restore settings and it worked fine.

    Thanks Madmarkamus ! I did your steps and I deleted all ZONELABS references in the registry (just in case that was also causing the error.)
