    Default Antivirus/Anti Spyware stopped updating

    version 7.0.337.000 zone alarme security suite
    now when I try to up date my definitions they error out I get unable to connect and remote catalog os older than local catalog......recently upgrades all (except hardrive) of my hardware.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

    This may be due to damaged or out of date XML files.

    1. In the Worldwide Downloads list at

    www.microsoft.com/downloads

    2. In the Keywords box, type "Microsoft XML Parser 3.0 Service
    Pack 7" and then click Go.
    3. In the list of available downloads, click Microsoft XML Parser
    (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack 7 (SP7).
    4. Run the file downloaded
    5. Follow the instructions on your screen.
    6. Reboot.

    Still getting the same message

    PLEASE try the following, as this will bring the firewall back to the original settings.

    I think is your Zone Alarm database has gotten corrupt and does not remember your Zones settings. Reset your database and see if that will fix it. Reset the database this way; you will lose your customizations and will need to reconfigure Zone Alarm.

    MAKE SURE you remove ALL the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files.

    1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode.

    2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.

    3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.

    4.Then empty the Recycle Bin.

    5. Reboot into the normal mode.

    I ran the Microsoft XLM Parser ... I am stillunable to manually update.

    This morning I checked and the Zone Alarm screen has a green bar for Antivirus, it is turned on and the Definitions state Subscription expires in 29 days Renew. However, the Antivirus still does not connect when update is run manually.

    Bt re-installing now my anti-spyware updates prperly, I get a cannot conect from the anti-virus part still though.
    Any ideas what I can do to fix the anti-virus part?

    I am very sorry you are still having problems with ZA.

    Are you aware that there is a new version of ZAISS that was released recently,but it is a BETA.

    The latest BETA has been released for the following product, if you are interested.

    PLEASE keep in mind this a BETA VERSION and PLEASE make sure you know exactly what you are doing if you decide to download this BETA.

    If not interested, you could upgrade to version 408, but looking over other members posts, they are having alot of issues with this version also. But, on the other hand, there are alot of members that are completely satisfied with version 408. It's your decision if you want to upgrade, as I am not going to say yes to you and do the upgrade, as if something goes wrong, then you will be frustrated with me for telling you to do, so I leave that decision in your hands.
