    Default SLOW AV Scans

I have computer running Windows XP. I had ZA 7.0.408. I did a clean uninstall and upgrade to 7.0.462. Everything seems ok except for the slow AV and spyware scans. An AV scan used to take 12 minutes now they take 42 minutes. Is there a solution to this?

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

I'm no pro at this so maybe others will pipe in, but 12 mins seem really fast andat 42mins well for me that's not bad.. I just "updated" 408 to 462 all seems to beworking as it should so no problems so far.. I have an older/slower Dell and myscan time seem to be about the same. I scaned 80,000 files and it took 1hr 9min.not sure how fast nor how many files it is
for you.In the Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware menu in advance options/scan targets you can havethe scan not check items that you know are safe to speed things up a bit.. Hopethis helps some.......

I see they changed the AV and Anti-Spyware engines in this latest version. I wonder if the new AV engine stopped using
ObjectIDs that the previous AV engine (based on KAV 6) appended to every file in order to speed up subsequent scans?
If so then that might account for the apparent slowdown.
