Default Are manual AV updates possible? (manual anti-virus updates?)

Since I can't seem to AV update one of my PCs, is there a way to manually download/install AV definitions?

Can I get them from the other PCs, or download them somewhere?

    thanks

I'm assuming you have ZoneAlarm Security Suite. Click on Anti-virus / Anti-spyware (on the left side), then click on the Update Now button at bottom of screen.

    ZASS 7.0.462
Yes, I tried that, the anti-spyware updates, and Zonealarm will check for program updates, but the anti-virus won't update, it says "the task encountered an error". That's why I'm asking if there's a way to get the definition file manually.

Are you on dial-up? Most recent users with anti-spyware issues are using dial-up. Even my 6.1.744.001 installis having the same dial-up issues.

I tried that but can't delete the one file that's there. It's a brand new load of win2k and ZASS on a new drive, and I tried it twice. I could probably boot to safe mode to delete the file, how I can't see how it could even be the problem.

Change your explorer to show hidden files - so you can see all the files on your computer.
