    Default Update fails??

    re: Zone Alarm Security Suite version 7.1.078.000
    On waking this morning I found that ZA had a cross through the tray icon and declared itself 'SHUT DOWN' and asking for a reboot.I rebooted the app which failed to load.On a pc reboot ZA loaded fine but VISTA declared that the AV suite was disabled.I opened the notification and saw that the definitions were out of date so opened ZA and yep there in red were the words 'update etc' so I attempted to update, it failed, I've tried five times now with the same results.
    Any advise would be wamrly welcomed at this point.
    regards

    No luck, the .rdb files refuse to be deleted under vista even IN SAFE MODE.Even after against my better judgement allowing myself permissions of the internet logs which reduces security massively the .rdb files refuse to delete.
    My only option seems to be to install unstable beta software, after backing up my entire hdd, this is just getting better and better, to think I paid for this **bleep**.I'm going back to windows fwall and Defender, to think I had to use system restore TWICE from corrupt ZA software.

    Hi!

    please remove completely ZASS and update to the latest version you find here(7.1.248):
    http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...ory_vista.html

    The fact that you are not able to remove Internet Logs even in SAFE MODE point to an issue with your VISTA OS.

    Try to remove the ZASS with the clean and rmlicense switches.
    Follow closely the instruction below (and take note of your license):

    * Click on Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs
    * RIGHT-click on Uninstall Zone Labs Security, then select Properties
    * Under Target you will see the following line (the actual drive may be different on your system):

    "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe"

    * Change it to:

    "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe" /clean /rmlicense

    (add a space and then the /clean /rmlicense)

    * Click OK to save the new command line.
    * Click on Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs -> Uninstall Zone Labs Security
    * Click OK to run the uninstaller, and OK any security alerts that pop up.
    * say "Yes when being prompted for the removal of all files and allow TrueVector to shut down.
    * Reboot
    * After rebooting, check for the following folders, and delete them if you find them:

    "Internet Logs"

    "Zone Labs" (under your Program Files folder)

    "Zonelabs" (under your Windows System32 folder)

    * Empty your recycle bin
    * Reboot
    * install the latest version if you are reinstalling
