Thread: Problems deleting LocalCatalog

  1. #1

    Default Problems deleting LocalCatalog

I am running Vista Ultimate with ZA Security Suite:
    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:7.1.248.000
    TrueVector version:7.1.248.000
    Driver version:7.1.248.000
    Anti-virus engine version:3
    Anti-virus signature DAT file version:946042125
    Anti-spyware engine version:5.0.189.0
    Anti-spyware signature DAT file version:01.200803.3425
    AntiSpam version:5.0.0.8843
The updating problems seem to have improved since updating to 7.1.148 but recently they seem to be occuring again. I was therefore tying to delete LocalCatalog in System32/updates but got message "Destination Folder access denied"
"you need permission to perform this action". Deleting this file helped clear problems in the past.
    Any help much appreciated.

Previously (in v 7.1 before recent upgrade to 7.1.
    248) I could delete in normal mode. Why should I now need to go into safe mode to delete this file??

Hi!if you don't want to boot in SAFE MODE, I would recommend to directly contact ZA techncial support and ask for clarification and support. Here: www.zonelabs.com/tsform It is free for register users of ZASS 7And unless you really have a problem, you should avoid playing with system32 folder. It may resolve your problem but you should not need to do that in the first place. This is an indication taht something is wrong in VISTA or in ZA.Cheers,Fax
