Default Zone Alarm disappeared and now keeps dying

Wed evening Zone Alarm ran a virus scan and found a trojan.
Right after I told it to delete it, Zone Alarm disappeared.
When I clicked Start/All Programs/Zone Alarm Tab, I could see a readme file, a Zone Alarm Tutorial and one other option, but not a start icon.
I rebooted my system and ZA did not start.
I checked the process that were running and ZA was not there.
(It has always started when I bootup my system.)
I then reinstalled (upgrade option) it.
It was working somewhat and said there was a newer version to download which I did.
Now it starts when I bootup but only runs a few minutes and dies, then it starts again.
I left it run while a did a virus scan with McAffe last nite and this morning the scan completed (no viruses) and ZA was not running at all.
I tried to do a system restore, but now no matter what date I pick, it tells me that it can not restore that date.
My system restore has worked in the past.
Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to fix this.
    Thanks

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

Make sure McAfee is not actively running in the background. Hopefully, it can be run "on demand" with no adverse effects.
You will need to uninstall and reinstall. First, make certain McAfee is not running.
    Download ZASS 7.0.473.0 from here:
    http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...473_000_en.exe

    Follow these instructions:

    UNINSTALL
