    Default Updating antispyware and antivirus

I just spent a lot of time on the chat line and on the phone trying to figure out how to keep Zone Alarm from updating all of the time while I'm trying to work on my computer. As you probably know, while updates are happening the machine basically freezes up-at least mine does anyway.

So, after disabling the automatic updates option, I apparently now have to go into Zone Alarm to tell it to manually check for updates. Problem with this is that I'll still be shutting my machine down during the update process unless maybe I do this just before I go to bed (assuming I remember to do it).

Has anyone found a way to set Zone Alarm up to schedule the updates at certain times or days such as can be done with scans?

    Thanks.

    Gary

I'm running Windows XP Home Version. Zone Alarm is 7.0.337.000. When I go into the tab for anti-spyware and anti-virus and then go to advanced options, all I can do is set the time for scans and de-activate the automatic update feature. I don't see a way to set the time for updates.
