Thread: ScanProcess Alert Warning pops up every 2 seconds

Default ScanProcess Alert Warning pops up every 2 seconds

It's funny when the process itself is the virus scan of zone alarm suite itself. And that the pop up keep going every 1 sec. Every when I click save that setting. This is clearly a bug. How do you fix it?

    Do a database reset:
    1) Ctrl + Shift right-click on ZoneAlarm System Tray icon

    2) Click Reset in popup box

    3) Click Yes in Reset Settings dialog box

    4) Click OK when prompted to reboot

    5) Follow onscreen prompts after reboot
This will clear all settings and return ZoneAlarm to it's just-installed state.

The problem is, that this resets it , then it goes back into learning mode
for 30 days - when you get
virutally no messages and the same things happens again.
What worries me is what is happening during the learning mode, is it letting things trough.
I think it is rediculous that the software throws up messages when it is performing tasks and stops.
It's about time Zonelabs started looking at this!

    BillPa,
You're right, it does go into learning mode after a reset but you can manuall set the controls yourself. Also, you can backup your settings, install or reset the database, and then restore them to take you back to your former state along with all your personalizations. I did not recommend the backup/restore in this case because there was database corruption.

Hey guys,I'm new to forum stuff, so be nice.I was looking at some of the auto help Zonelabs has, anyway one refers to the "All systems Active" with the Truevector being corrupt can these two issues be related to each other.
I have tried delete the files they say are necessary, however they seem to still be there upon next startup?

I wonder whenever we reset Zonealarm, does ZA delete the updated virus signature? Or keep the latest virus signature?

But say you are using 7.047, and the file dates of 7.047 shows the software is around march 2008.

    1) Can I assume the virus signature is already updated to around Mar 2008?

    2) In the future, if I need to reset ZA due to that bug (scan process alert warning every 2 sec.), what would be the date of the virus signature? Would it be March 2008 or whatever the latest virus signature that I updated to just before I reset ZA?
