    Default Help, Help, Help Virus scan freezes

    Whenever I run a virus scan, ZA freezes at the following file: C:\windows\systems32\msvcp60.dll It will stop at this file and stay there overnight. Then when I try to cancel the scan it freezes ZA and the only thing I can do is turn off my computer and turn it on again.

    My scanner is set to the deep scan.
    It hangs on C:\WINDOWS\_default.pif every time I try to run it.
    The scan will not stop via the "cancel" scan button.Can't kill the application using the task manager.Can't even close
    the "scanning status" window.
    The only way to stop it is to turn off the computer via the "turn off computer"
    button.
    I see others are having a similar
    problem.
    Is there a fix available?
    Not a good time to have problems with our scanners!!

    I have the same problem. I am reviewing the posts now. One thing I can suggest is that you can shutdown ZA and load up again instead of shutting down your whole computer.

    Hi guys,

    This problem here could be caused by conflicts between ZoneAlarm and your other running programs.

    I suggest that you boot to Safe Mode and run a deep scan with ZoneAlarm again. This is because in Safe Mode, only the most basic drivers are loaded. Let me know if the freezing problems remain.

    A small note... it must be SAFE MODE with NETWORKING and then you have to manual run ZA (from start --> programs --> ZA...etc).
