I apologize if my post has the same/similar issue that others are having. After reading the zonealarm forums for all related postings and having pretty much tried all relevant suggestions, I'm stuck with the following:
I have performed several clean un-install methods for my previous ZA installation (V7.0.483) and subsequent v8.0.059 installs on my WinXP SP2 computer, see below.
+ removal of registry entries and deletion of folders (C:\Program Files\Zone Labs, C:\Windows\System32\Zone Labs)
+ used ZA_CLEAN.exe
+ also tried "C:\Program Files\ZoneAlarm8\zauninst.exe" /clean /rmlicense
After each clean un-install and re-installation of ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 8.0.059, the antivirus updates will not complete. Instead, I get an error message "Unable to connect."
I'm sure I do NOT have a malware infection since I always kept my previous ZoneAlarm version's anti-virus/spyware up-to-date and I'm current with WinXP SP2 security updates. I also have weekly scheduled anti-virus/spyware scans of the computer.
Please advise on any possible next steps.
