Whenever I start my computer or zone alarm security suite it starts to perform a full system scan. This utilisers 50 -70% of my CPU, sometimes more, and with just one or 2 other things running pushes it upto 100% CPU usage and hamstrings my PC. I have 3 hard drives at 500GB each, it takes forever. This then seriously slows down my PC. I normally multi-task with numerous windows open, this becomes virtually impossible with a full scan active too, and monopolising 50-70% + of my PC and a big chunk of memory. The only way to stop this scan is to turn zonealram fully off, leaving my PC unprotected. If I turn it back on again it just commences the scan from scratch again. I therefore end up using my PC without zonealram on at all, ie no firewall or anti-virus protection at all.
I run full system scans overnight when the PC isn't in use, about once a month, sometimes once a week depending. I don't need or want it to do automatic scans when it feels like it, only at my request. Its getting to the point I have to turn zonealarm off and keep it off to use my computer. This makes it pretty pointless having it in the first place.
Plus it didn't use too do this during the first few weeks I had it. I've discovered thaT THIS OCCURS AFTER IT STATES IT HAS "FULLY LEARNED" FROM ME. I then have to uninstall and re-install it to stop this from occuring for another few weeks. The period where it states it is auto-learning. I have had to do this 4 times now.
Has anyone any suggestions please
