After a boot error (multiple irp complete requests) and a subsequent system restore I got the following ZA messages
"New Network found
ZA detected new network found with IP 169.254.0.03"
I searched on the Internet what the IP address is for and found at http://www.duxcw.com/faq/network/autoip.htm that this IP address is part of the Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) for operating systems up to Win Me. However, my own system, Win XP, is NOT listed.
How can I understand this ? I never demanded a private network to be started.
The central question, of course : Is this dangerous ?
Second question: Can I stop it? The duxcw web site mentioned shows how to stop APIPA for other than Win XP only.
I am connected to the Internet with out a proxy
