Default TrueVector Yellow Security Alert msg - why?

    PC - Win2K
    ZA v6.5.714

I've just upgraded to the most recent version - no problems except I keep getting a Yellow Security Alert saying:

    ------
TrueVector Service is trying to use ZoneAlarm Updating Client to access the Internet."

    Application: vsmon.exe
    Dest. IP: 65.206.60.114

This is the program's first attempt to access the internet.
    ------

I keep denying it each time the alert appears, but each time the alert comes up it has a different destination IP....

Any idea why this is coming up now, and what's going on?

    TIA,

    Bruce

    Operating System:Windows 2000 Pro
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro
    Software Version:6.5

What! You prevent TrueVector from accessing internet? TrueVector is a component of ZoneAlarm!And... well, let's assume you really want to block TrueVector, why don't you choose "Remember this setting..." check box when you press the "deny" button?

I am most certainly not TRYING to block True Vector from doing anything!

    I ask the question because:
    1) it's the first time I get a yellow alert for TrueVector at all,

    2) the destination IP it's trying to access each time is radically different (so if it were a ZoneAlarm update check, wouldn't it be checking-in with an IP in a similar range of addresses?)

and 3) there is either no "remember this setting" option in the dialog

Then that's bad. Will you please posta screenshot of that message? (Please use rapidshare.de. Most Image sharing websites are blocked off down here.)

Also, click Properties... link and confirm the accessing file is truly theTrueVector.

In addition, tell me if the destination IPs have any similarity with your IP.

Unfortunately, I can't provide a screenshot because I updated to 6.5.722.000 a week ago, and haven't seen the issue come up since (so I chocked it up to a bug in v714)

I had upgraded to 6.5.714.000 a couple of days before I first posted the msg here and it had been occurring right up to the update of the most recent version. (Which is why I had pretty much forgotten this thread!)

I can confirm however, that the Properties dialog did show that it was TrueVector, and the destination IPs that it was attempting to access were widely varying and dissimilar to mine or my ISP's.

In the dialog, I kept choosing to disallow the communication, so it appears that there was no damage or danger incurred on my system.
