    Default Opening Problems II

Hi, I've got the same problem with opening the program.
(I also get the alert saying that I don't have the required rights to acces the element.)

I have reinstalled the program several times, but nothing seem to help. It worked well until I downloaded an update.

I hope someone could be so kind and help me out! Thanks a lot!

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

    Hi,

Try resetting your database. Reset the database this way; you will lose your customizations and will need to reconfigure Zone Alarm.

    1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode. {Instructions if needed}
    2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.
    3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.
    4. Reboot into the normal mode.

PLEASE keep me posted on your results, Thanks.

    Hi again,
and thank you. When I uninstall Zone Alarm these files seem to disappear, so unfortunately it did not solve the problem. Have you got any other suggestion to what could be wrong? Is it possible to download the previous version of Zone Alarm (Free) somewhere? Thanks again!

I have exactly the same problem - which I posted on a different thread here but I can't find these files in specified folder - so I can't reset the database.

I think it is a bug in the newest version of ZA... I'm mad because I've always been using this program and like it very much and just when I was about to renew my old licence for Pro version - the issue occured...

    Best regards!

    Hi SwanSong,

What I can understand from your previous posts, none of these files can be found in this folder, correct? PLEASE post the files that are in the folder you are referring to, Thanks.

    Hi,

I just looked in my Internet Logs folder, and I don't see any these files that you posted anywhere. I suggest you uninstall and reinstall Zone Alarm.

PLEASE go to the following thread and PLEASE FOLLOW THE EXACT INSTRUCTIONS.

    Hi.

First of all - thank you for your involvement - I followed the instructions and... ZA didn't even start once.

I think that this is useless - Zone Labs has released a product that has a bug and at this point I have enough of tryings - it's a waste of time. I've never had any problems with ZA before that required so many steps.

So SlyFox - thank you once again and I'm waiting for a new release. Until then I'll have to find a different firewall to protect my system.

    Best regards
    SwanSong
