Thread: Blue Screen Stop error at Startup.

    Default Blue Screen Stop error at Startup.

    I've had my Dell dimension 3100c desktop for a few weeks now and this problem is gradually becoming more frequent.

    Probably 50% of the time when I switch on my computer, once the windows xp logo loading screen disappears, a blue screen appears telling me that windows had to be shut down to prevent damage to my system etc.

    The stop message is...

    ***STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x804EEF91, 0xF6E82B90, 0x00000000)

    It's happened a few times now and it's recommended i contact my hardware vendor.

    Dell therefore told me to run their crash analysis tool and it is telling me that "vsdatant.sys" is a cause for concern. They then advise me to contact ZA as it's a file made by them.

    I have read around a few boards, finding a few people highlighting problems with this file. Is there any new solutions to this? It's extremely worrying that this keeps occuring.

    Is anyone able to tell me if it is actually a ZA related issue?

    I'm using ZASS version 6.5. I believe I have the latest updates also.
