    How long does it last? Can you use the phone when it happens? Can you use the internet?

    May be the telephone I was using...tried another one and only had on short loss of service in last 3 days. Thanks for

    I don't know if this will help.
    I have VoIP with Packet8 and it is working beautifully.
    I did have DSL service prior to getting VoIP.
    Unfortunately the company I had DSL service failed to tell me about connectivity problems and I had to change to a cable modem.
    Shortly after I activating the VoIP service with the first company.
    I encountered no problems.

    This month I switched to a Packet 8's VoIP services and just switched to a different cable company.
    I chose to switch because of the special bundles services of cable, High-speed Internet access, and land line telephone service.
    I was able to keep my same land line telephone number and got a faster cable modem connection.
    When I activiated my service, I encountered no problems with my ZoneAlarm security suite.

    My recommendation, switch to cable modem service if this service is provided by a cable company in your area.
