Thread: ZA Frozen

    Default ZA Frozen

When opening MSWord or IE, the Security Alert pops up and freezes. I cannot select "Allow" or "Deny," nor can I exit the program. If I open other programs, they open under the alert.

If I attempt to open the ZA control area (program), it opens but I have no access to it. I also cannot close it.

    Your thoughts?

It looks like either your data base got corrupted or the install is corrupted. Try first a resetting of ZA data base and see if it fixes the problem.

Now reset the database this way; you will lose your customizations and will need to reconfigure Zone Alarm.

    1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode.
    2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.
    3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.
    4. Reboot into the normal mode.

I did what you suggested and it worked
    last night and
    this morning.
    However, it's frozen again now.
It's now retricting some (not all) of my internet access.
    Very unusal...-- Marc

Have you checked for bugs lately in your computer? Here are a couple of scan sites if you are interested, just to make sure you are free of any type of nasties hiding inside your computer.

Give Generic Host Process Server Rights in the Trusted Zone and full Access rights. And yes, a red cross for Internet in the Server section. Empty the Trash folder in Mozilla Firebird or empty the cache from your current browser. Then empty your recycle bin. Reboot and try it again.

Check out this thread, as it may or may not solve your issue.
