Default ZoneAlarm crashed the other night, something to do with v...

ZoneAlarm crashed the other night, something to do with vsmon.exe.

I ran a virus and spyware scan and there were no problems. But now, every time the computer starts up, I get a Windows Security Alert that my firewall and antivirus are not running. Then, a few seconds later, ZoneAlarm loads. ZoneAlarm says that everything is running normally, but the Windows Security Alert won't go away.

Is my computer compromised? If so, how do I fix it when the virus scan doesn't reveal anything? At the very least, if the Windows Security Alerts are in error, how do I correct *that*?

Some help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Adam

vsmon.exe is the amin component of the ZA firewall, so that is ok.

Sounds like either a windows issue or a ZA issue. fix the ZA by resetting it database. Like this:

Boot your computer into the Safe Mode

Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder

Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder

    Clean the Recycle Bin

    Reboot into the normal mode

The Zone Alarm will be cleaned of all previous settings and data and it will appear as when it was first installed

How to get in to the Safe Mode:
