Default Windows Explorer suddenly requesting Internet access

Hello and thanks in advance for any help.

    Windows XP Home.
    ZoneAlarm version: 7.0.337.000

Two days ago, Windows Explorer started asking for net access every time I tried to open a Firefox file (IM log files saved as .html). As you can see, they're supposed to be opened with Firefox. Screenshot: http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/F...creenshot1.jpg

Here's the error message from ZoneAlarm: http://www.hot-hot-hot-catlove.com/F...creenshot2.jpg

Unless I give Windows Explorer internet access (which I'm really uncomfortable with doing), the Firefox files will not open. If I give permission they do open (with Firefox).

I did a search of these boards and found this solution (http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/b...sage.id=62#M62) to a similar problem, but it didn't fix it.

I recall Windows doing an update in the last couple days, but I'm not sure if it coincided with this issue starting.

    Hi

I had much the same problem with XP and V7.0.337.000

I was however able to open Firefox browser but Explorer wanted to access the Internet and my Trusted zone.

After removing MS KB938828 which installed 16 Aug 2007 the problem disappeared.
