Hi, not sure if this is the correct thread. ZoneAlarm is giving me an alert that nslookup is trying to access the trusted zone. The IP address listed traces back to Comcast. I use Comcast high-speed internet. I've had a problem with a trojan that was using my machine to send e-mail. I've managed to disable the add-on in IE7, but so far I can't remove the .dll file. Anyway, I am wondering if this trojan is trying to run nslookup.exe, or if this is a valid startup process.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

Tom_NY , Are the Comcast DNS servers listed in the Zones tab as trusted? If not, perhaps that's why ZA reports that nslookup is in action.See if these two references helphttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nslookup

I'm surprised that's the alert you're getting since you are not using it in the cmd window,
and no, nslookup normally is not in the startup list.
If you could post the exact wording in the alert as well as the properties of that nslookup, someone might help.To get the properties, click on the little link that the alert gives you.
