hi it works fine when zone alarm is shut down.
    i tried this below
1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot
this stopped the error message appearing but she only has the option to save not open attachments,so only a little better but not resolved

    Hi!

resetting the database should be enough to resolve the issue.
If you still have problems.... it could be:

    - You have received a warning by ZA and 'deny' (since the reset). For example, IE wanting to monitor your keyboard and mouse (its normal and should be allowed)?
    - Other tools or toolbars in IE conflicting with ZA.

Are you running other spyware tools, antivirus tools apart from ZASS?

    Hi!
then make sure SM 6 drivers and software is not running when ZASS is running.
SM 6 had known conflicts with ZASS 7. And is not known to be a good registry cleaner.

It messed my registry once... better to use free utilities like ccleaner.

    - Make sure ZA privacy control is OFF
    - Make sure IE has "Super trusted" permissions (Three bars) and access to internet (green tick)
    - Disable or remove SM6

You could also try the system only with ZA and MS standard services and programs.
To be sure its not another software conflicting with ZA. This way:

    1.) Click Start -> Run
2.) Type MSConfig in the run box and click OK
3.) Once in MSConfig, click the Startup Tab
4.) Remove the checks from everything except ZLClient
    5.) Click the Services Tab
6.) Place a check in "Hide All Microsoft Services"
7.) Now remove checks from everything other than TrueVector Internet
    Monitor, and click OK.
    8.) Restart your computer

    How does it work?

NOTE: You can place your computer back into a normal startup process by
going back into msconfig and choosing the Normal Startup option on the
    General tab.
