Default Zone alarm keeps asking permission to run

This is the second time this has happened to me, and I hope that Zone alarm gets fixed soon.
I start a virus scan in ZA security suite in XP and keep getting messages that I need to permit zone alarm to continue.
I check the box to remember this setting, and the thing keeps coming up again and again, making a virus scan impossible.
I went to the last message that I posted on this problem, and the solution was to reset za to the original settings, which I did.
Upon a reboot, it asked my why I did this, I filled out the little form, and it brought up my email program, which hung.
I assume the message never got to support.
It seems this is a very buggy product and I certainly would never recommend it to anyone.
If there is some way to tell customer support about this problem, maybe they can fix it.
The thing that may have broken it was removing 2 trojans it found during a routine scan.
I could not rename them, so told ZA to remove them after a reboot.
After the reboot, ZA was broken again.X-(
Please fix it. Thanks

Dear Pattiwagen & Guru'Chiaz,

please help. I am having the same problem as you did (Zone alarm kept asking for permission to run).

Apparently from your subsequent posting, you have had the problem solved though I couldn't see the replies to your initial query.

Can you let me know what did you do to resolve the problem?

Thanks

Wong

This is what I did.
It came from SlyFox and it worked.

To repair this problem, please follow the steps below. Please note that

this will remove your program permission settings (so you may want to make
note of them), but re-establishing them is a simple process.

1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot
