Thread: Windows Security Alerts

    Default Windows Security Alerts

Windows Security Alerts reports that Zone Alarm is off even though I can see it in the taskbar and it appears to be active.
    Am I protected?
If so, how do I get Windows XP to acknowledge it?

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:5.x
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

    Hi!
unless there is a corruption of the windows security center it should be enough to:

    - right click on the ZA icon near the clock and choose shutdown;
    - Wait 2-3 minutes
    - Open ZA again from XP all programs --> ZoneAlarm --> etc..

I've experienced the same issue starting about 8/20.
Stopping & restarting ZA Security Suite corrects the problem, but the next time I reboot the problem reocurs.
Something has changed recently, any ideas?

    Hi!
as far as I know, nothing on WSC has changed.
You may want to try to reset the WSC entirely.

What has changed is that I installed Zone Alarm.
I had switched off to **bleep** Firewall, but that was terrible and I uninstalled it.
I reinstalled ZoneAlarm and noticed the error message.
