    Default ZASS8 and firewall detection

Back when ZASS8 was released, I immediately received Windows notification that it was unable to detect the firewall. I tried many workarounds that had worked before (turning off/back on, rebuilding WMIS, etc) without any luck. Because of this I had gone back to ZASS7. What I'd like to know is, has this problem been identified / resolved?

(I only rarely get the SVCHOST error now, and rebooting usually corrects that)

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

    Hi!
I don't get this problem with latest beta build nor with previous ones.
    May be something local...

The only way to control is to install the beta, test it and report to beta feedback page.
This is the only possibility you have to resolve your issue.

I've downloaded it, and hesitate to install it just because I HOPE it will address the issue. You know the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I was wondering if anyone else who had the detection problem had it corrected with the beta.

Upon further reading, I am even LESS likely to install the beta since it's hard coded to self destruct (beta license expires independently of the license paid for).

Hi!yes, it last around 60 or less days... once done just remove from XP add/remove. Its easy and it takes one minute...Otherwise, I am afraid you willneed to live with your problem or change product.Cheers,Fax

60 days from the date of release, not from date of install.

Changing product is not something I wish to do. I chose to buy ZASS out of a sense of "loyalty" after all the years I had used ZA Free. It would be a shame to take my business elsewhere due to that loyalty not being returned to a paying customer.

I'm sorry that your having a problem..ZoneAlarm is still investigating and collecting data on the Slow shutdown, slow coming out of Standby and slow logging off user issue. The automatic Product update for 8.0 was turned off two weeks ago.We recommend that users uninstall 8.0 and reinstall 7.http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...seHistory.htmlWhen a improved version is ready the automatic update notification will let you know in the client.Only us Users read this Forum..To Report a Non-BETAProblem with a Valid ZA License Contact ZA Tech Support Directly for FREE at www.zonealarm.com/tsform (with IE Browser)--------------------------------------------------------
