    Default exception unknown software exception

I run IE7 on XP SP3 and have recently updated to ZA 8.0. Now I frequently experience browser freeze ups (all other programs are locked up as well) and eventually I get the following message: The exception unknown software exception (0x000409) occurred in application at location 0x6246f2ee. Any idea what is causing this and how to prevent it?Thanks

I should also mention that this message pops up in a window titled vsmon.exe application error.

Uninstall the ZA using the "Clean Uninstall" link below, download a new copy from the correct link below (and use only the Internet Explorer with no download accelerators or manager) and install the ZA in the Safe Mode.

    Hello,
Sorry to jump on this thread but I am having the same problem as the OP.I removed everything as per instructions.
Reinstall from scratch an the same problem persist.
Once you get the error, things work but Internet response time slows down to a trickle.
If I don't run ZA, everything works like a charm.Stopping ZA does not stop the vsmon process.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I have the exact same problem except that I am using IE6.I just installed the latest version of ZA Internet Suite.I tried removing everything and reinstalling to no avail.
The module having problems is vsmon.
    Any help would be appreciated.
The software is pretty much useless at this point.
Does anyone know how to kill vsmon ??

    See this thread

but the Privacy should be turned off instead of removal.
There is a confirmed issue with the Privacy at the present.
Hopefully the next ZA upgrade will resolve this issue.

Sorry to interupt, but I am also getting a simular message and feeling a bit like beta tester here without the benifit of a free program and watching the hour glass of my precious time slip away....X-( so I am not a happy camper.
    The
message that I am getting is,
    "the exception unknown software exception
0xc0000409 occured in the application at location 0x6346f3ee.
Whereby my TCP/IP Freezes up, and I get a message that my
server can no longer be found.

Since this seems to be happening when ever I try to order anything at Amazon.com I am most frustrated....
    Any pearls of wisdom???????

I bascially traced the issue down to the Privacy filtering of the ZA.
This has been reported and hopefully fixed in the latest release.

But if the ZA is not upgraded or the newer version is not available yet, until that time then the adblocking and the cookie filtering of the Privacy should not be used, as these seem to be the culprits on some of the web sites.
My own solution to completely remove the privacy plugin was not a solution, only to determine if the privacy was at issue.
