Default I keep losing my desktop

Has anyone experienced this? I come back to my computer to find that I've lost all my icons from my desktop. The only thing I can see is my desktop background. Sometimes if I do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete, a dialogue box appears to tell me that my computer is locked. I'm able to unlock it and get my desktop back. When this happens, I always notice that there's a ZoneAlarm diaglogue box stating that the "generic host process for Win32 services is trying to as as a server", which is why I'm wondering if ZoneAlarm is causing this to happen.

However, 9 times out of 10, I have to do a hard reboot of my computer b/c even Ctrl-Alt-Delete won't work. It's becoming more frequent now.

My subscription is about to expire so I'd like to resolve this (one way or another) before deciding.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi!first of all you shouldmake a in-depth check for malware. See here:*** Check the system especially with MBAM and Superantispyware. Then completely remove ZASS, following this instruction:*** Keep note of your ZA license and remove the folders mentioned at the end of the documentRemove any other securitytool you are running, ZA does not play nice with many other security tools. They may block its correct functioning including updates. For example, spyware doctor, spysweeper, trojan hunter, win patrol, PCtools Threat Fire, Mcafee, Norton, Symantec, Adaware, SpybotS&D, AVG, NOD, and manyothers. If you want to troubleshoot issues with ZA please remove these tools (not enough to disable) and install back (if you really need) only after you see your ZASS is working as it should.Download, install and run ccleaner (both registry and programs cleaner): the ZA Install with default settings do NOT alter them. After re-boot go to ZA antivirus/antispyware and 'Update Now' and do not restore any previous ZA settings.Cheers,Fax
