I just remirrored a two-month old laptop so my updated Vista Basic install should be clean, and I haven't downloaded any software on the pc - except to install (not download and install) ZoneAlarm and a couple of virus and spyware apps.
Today, I received an alert from ZoneAlarm that IA.EXE was attempting to access the trusted zone and the internet. I am unclear as to what this executable is. I denied access and then launched a search on my machine to locate the offending app. However, my search came up empty; I could not locate the exe.
Can you tell me if ia.exe hides and can't be found by the MS windows explorer or anti-virus and spyware apps? Can someone suggest how I can remove this thing from the machine if I can't find it???
Is it also possible that this alert is a false positive?
Thanks - kam
