Default System Lock-Up Upon Closing Zone Alarm

I've been using the free version of Zone Alarm for a few years now without any problem, until this summer, around July or August. I updated Zone Alarm, and then whenever I would exit Zone Alarm, I would become unable to open any programs, or even shut down my computer. I was given a Windows error message saying something along the lines of me not having sufficient access privilege. I uninstalled Zone Alarm and have not used it until today, when I reinstalled it and found that I am still having this problem. I apologize in advance if I put this in the wrong forum; I was having a hard time determining which forum it best fit in.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)
    Software Version:6.5

    Hi

Uninstall the ZA 6.5 and install the ZA 6.1. There should be no problem with this versiom.

So the problem I'm having is inevitable with 6.5? I can't prevent that somehow?

    Hi

You could try this from Microsoft and see if it resolves the problem. It may help and it may not.
