    Hi,

    Welcome to the Forum!

If you are using ZA Free, you'll have to reset your database. Reset the database this way; you will lose your customizations and will need to reconfigure Zone Alarm.

    1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode.
    2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.
    3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.
    4.Reboot into the normal mode.

PLEASE keep me posted on your results, THANKS.

    Hi SlyFox,
Thankyou very much for the welcome and the help.
I thought i vould try to delete the files without booting to Safe Mode,
backup.rdb was no problem, iamdb.rdb i could only delete after disabling ZoneAlarm.
Rebooted and looks very much like it is now working OK
    My sincere thanks.

I noticed in the same directory of the above files, there are three ZIP files, i like to know if thei belong there, they are:-
    GLB17 2nd 2006 12 26 23 06 42 Small.dmp.zip
    GLB1E 2nd 2006 12 26 23 07 23 Small.dmp.zip
    vsmon_on_demand_2006_12_09_23_43_24_full.dmp.zip
Can i trouble You to tell me about thise files if You can please.
    Kind regards and ThankYou

Forgive me for "budding in" but I'm actually here for the same reason.

    I tried the following fix:
    1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode.
    2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.
    3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.
    4.Reboot into the normal mode.

This worked for a very short while, less than an hour. I came back to the computer and could only get back on the Internet by shutting down ZA.

I also tried adding the DNS, IP, an any other I could think of to the "trusted zone" and using ZA has the effect of disconnecting my computer from the Internet. My only solution so far is to "SHUT DOWN" ZA when I want Internet Access.

FYI: I'm using the free version 6.5.737.0. It worked for a short while before the problem started.
I have older version install files on my hard drive. I may uninstall and try one of the older versions. They always worked.

Hi Charlie, You most welcome to but in here,
I found that the site thet i visit while ZoneAlam is off are accesseble after with ZA on, but no new ones.
I have tried everything You did with just about the same results.
Tried to install an older version of ZA while ZA was disabled and got a forbidden popup window, desisted then, did not want to uninstall ZA and try again for fear of not bin able to get ZA on again.
Please let me know if You make any progress.

    PS:- For any reader.
Is anyone having the same problem with ZA Pro?

I ended up uninstalling the newer version and installed an old version (6.0.667.0) and all seems to work again. It's been about 5 hours now. Boy am I glad I kept the old install files.

    Glad You solved the problem.
Me, i am in deeeeep trouble, i wanted to do the same as You, uninstalled ZA, wanting to install an older version, it will not let me, all sorts of DLL
problems, now have no firewall, will have to look for a different one.

Found this on the NET, did'nt help me.
Might bi of help for somone else

Anyway the solution I have found and made it possible for me to intall ZoneAlarm Pro with the upgrade 65 722 000 was to delete the folder "ZoneLabs" in C:\Windows\system32. Then I installed ZoneAlarm successfully and it it is running properly. Strange as mentioned before that the ZoneAlarm havent circulated such simple information or made an easy fix in 65 722 000 that made the program go through the pc and unistalled all remnants of previous ZoneAlarm

Well I tried again this morning and had to
    shut down
ZA again. I'm thinking that ZA and Norton AV 2007 might no co-exist very well. I may end up dumping
ZA and going with Norton AV and Firewall. I was hoping to keep ZA and move to ZA Pro but it seems Pro has the same problems.

I installed Ashampoo Firewall, (free version), dont like it very much. I miss ZA, will go back to it when it's working again.
