    Default Can no longer connect to internet or email with zone alarm firewall active

    I have recently lost the ability to connect to the internet or retrieve/send email when zone alarm firewall is active.
    If I attempt to open internet explorer I eventually get a connection error.
    If I open Outlook Express I eventually time out trying to connect.
    If I shut down zone alarm, no problems connecting.
    This just seemed to happen out of the blue starting yesterday.

    Hi,

    Welcome to the Forum!

    A database reset will fix the problem if Zone Alarm is the problem in the first place. Reset the database this way; you will lose your customizations and will need to reconfigure Zone Alarm.

    1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode.
    2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.
    3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.
    4. Reboot into the normal mode.
