    Default zonealarm blocking web access

zonealarm was working fine to begin with but then started blocking all internet access (as if i wasn't connected to internet at all) seemed to be rather temperamental sometimes it would work most of the time not, if i shut down zone alarm then internet would work fine, i read another post that sounded same problem and put my wireless adapter into trusted zone and now all seems to be working, so my problem is am i still protected adequately or was my fixing of the problem the wrong way to go about it.

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)
    Software Version:7.0

From the brief explanation you posted it sounds like you've done the right thing. Also confirm your DNS and DHCP server IP's are in the Trusted zone.

Finding DNS and DCHP servers, etc

    1. Go to Run type in command , hit 'ok', and type ipconfig /all then press enter. In the returned data list will be a line DNS and DHCP Servers with the IP address(s) listed out to the side.
    2. In ZA on your machine on the Firewall>Zones tab click Add and then select IP Address. Make sure the Zone is set to Trusted.
    3. Click OK and then Apply and see if that works to fix it..

i moved the wireless adapter back to internet zone and after putting the dns server into the trusted zone it seems to be working hopefully it's still blocking the bad stuff,
