Default IE 7 wants to connect to 212.143.35.100????

    Hi,

I'm not sure as to what transpired since microsoft pushed the updates for february; zone alarm security suite 7 flags me a message that it wants to connect to the ip 212.143.35.100.

I did a search on this ip address; and it seems like the ip belongs to israel; and i'm not sure why will my IE connect to some server in israel.

I ran all my antispyware application (ad-aware, pest petrol, zonealarm antispyware and spybot); but didn't find anything suspicious. I also ran a full virus scan on my machine; but with no hint of any infection.

The default homepage in IE is of microsoft's website.

Any users who have experienced this?

    Regards,

    ZA User

Is this the IE7 or the ZA that wants to connect to this site?

Any extra add-ons in the IE7? Is the Phishing filter in the IE7 enabled?

Any popups in the IE or change in the homepage (or new favorites) or any new (or old) toolbars in the IE7? Any Google or MSN addons?

    Hi Oldsod,

    Thanks for the reply.

Is this the IE7 or the ZA that wants to connect to this site?
ZA gives me an alert with the following information:
'Internet Explorer is trying to access the internet'
    Indentification: Unknown
    Application: iexplore.exe
    Destination IP: 212.143.35.100: HTTP

Any extra add-ons in the IE7? Is the Phishing filter in the IE7 enabled?
Phishing filter is turned on in IE. I have some addons in IE and I'm not sure which one's could be leading to this. I did not change any configuration or added a new add on.

Any popups in the IE or change in the homepage (or new favorites) or any new (or old) toolbars in the IE7? Any Google or MSN addons?
I changed nothing. I have google toolbar installed in IE.

One thing which I noticed is that once I check mark 'access to internet' in non-trusted zone in Zone Alarm settings, I get no alert from Zonealarm.

I also did a search on this IP address at http://www.selfseo.com/find_host_by_ip.php; and found out this IP address belongs to IP address belongs to DSL212-143-35-100.bb.netvision.net.il

I have no idea why will IE connect to this address!!!

Any help on this will be highly appreciated. I'm really going bonkers now.

I cannot figure out why the IE is calling Israel either.

Best idea I have is that there is something using the IE to call out there for it's own purpose.

Best advice is try a HJT forum. They are free and experts. The requirements before actually posting the HJT log is a very good method to clean the PC. Anything leftover or missed will be caught by the HJT and the logs show what is up. They will read your HJT logs and give the correct advice/procedurehttp://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22 to make the PC perfectly clean again.

    Try one of these:
