Default ZoneAlarm Drop connection - theory

Wondering why my pc occasionally loses
its internet connection,.... and it occurred to me that maybe ZA gets messed up everytime the ISP changes my ip address.
My symptions have always been, about once every week or so (sometimes a month goes by) I lose connectivity. I can jump right back on the net
if I close ZA and re-open it. I have had this sympton on my last 3 PC's and also 3 PC's at work.
Today, I went to work expecting to get on my home PC via remote access - no go... get home and wouldn't you know it the IP had changed, AND, my girlfriends computer (screen saver) was froze. I restarted ZA, she rebooted her PC and we both get back on line.
Makes me wonder how people have IP number changes more frequently then this, i.e., the occasional connection loss every hour or so, maybe it is changing IP numbers?
On the other hand, this theory seems obsurdly simply, why would I be discovering this?
    any comments.....

Hi, No, ZA is not messed up
Yes, ISPs do change IP addresses.Yes, rebooting reaquires the new IP and connection restores.
Assuming your computer obtains IP from the DHCP servers or another computer, the solution just below your post should keep the connection going
