Default Tru Vector Internet Monitor Shutdown

I am having problems accessing the internet. My Tru Vector Internet Monitor is shutdown. Occassionally it comes up with an error message asking me if I want to restart it. I type in YES but the error still exists. Sometimes it says to reboot & I have. I did both cold & warm reboots but no change. Also there's occassionally a red box with an X in it. It appears in the system tray. When I check the red box out, it says that there is no
Tru Vector service. This has started about 6 days ago. I did not update anything. I have 'Automatic Updates' set to run daily.

I have Windows XP Prof 5.1.260 Service Build 2600. When I check task manager VSMON appears to be running because the CPU time is constantly changing. I had to uninstall my Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite in order to get on the internet. Any help would be very appreciated.

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

Hi!this is usually due to ZA corrupted settings. Try to reset them and see if it fixes your issue.Cold shutdown can corrupted ZA settings, the same applies if you had hangs/crash of the system1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after rebootThe above only works with ZASS version 7.0.470.000 and above. If you are not on this version please update to it.Cheers,Fax
